CIESC Founds Counselor Connect Community of Practice

CIESC is pleased to announce the development of Counselor Connect, a community of practice for student service professionals which will engage with student service professionals in two ways.  

First, there will be a series of three virtual meetings beginning April 20 with previously-selected student services professionals that will seek input and feedback on what they need right now and how their efforts can be supported. In the future, CIESC will have a webpage dedicated to Counselor Connect that will include helpful resources. 

We have also partnered with Koru Strategy Group, a consulting group incubated by the Harvard Innovation Labs and founded by alumni of the Harvard Graduate School of Education who will assist us with the planning phase of this effort. Danielle Duarte, a nationally-recognized school counselor and part of the Koru team will assist in developing Counselor Connect content.  

Second, this Community of Practice will meet as early as June to begin developing ongoing professional development and support for student services professionals. Counselor Connect will include student service professionals from all CIESC member districts as well as the IDOE Gold Star Advisory and higher education representatives.    

CIESC hopes that Counselor Connect will become a premier resource for student service professionals throughout the state of Indiana.
